Fields of the Nephilim have confirmed that they will be headlining Wave-Gotik-Treffen 2011.
The ‘Wave Gothic Meeting’ is a 25,000 capacity, four-day festival in Leipzig, Germany, that celebrates 'dark culture' and so it follows, that Fields of the Nephilim’s seminal sound will be heard, headlining the AGRA venue, on the festival’s 20th Anniversary.
Fields of the Nephilim are honoured to be performing on Sunday, June 12th, and as always, WGT Festival is set over the Whitsun weekend, the Pagan celebration of Summer’s Day.
Carl McCoy, creator and vocalist of Fields of the Nephilim, was influenced from a very young age by a ‘dark culture’, aiding his decision to pursue a career in art and music. He embraced the world of the occult and portrayed the apocalyptic climate of the American Wild West and it was America’s discordant past that inspired Fields of the Nephilim’s emerging brand of aural delights, expressed in tracks such as ‘Trees Come Down’, ‘Power’, ‘Preacher Man’ and ‘Dawnrazor'.
