Silver Skull originally started as a two piece in 2008. Josh Endres, just shy of 14 years old began playing the guitar and Justin Endres, just shy of 9, picked up his first pair of sticks, not realizing at the time the path they were about to embark on. The two brothers, determined to put out some killer metal tunes for all, practiced relentlessly to perfect their sound as a two piece. With Josh belting out the brutal vocals while playing insane guitar riffs and Justin playing drum licks often not heard in many other metal bands. In this time they were able to complete many original tunes some of which include «Tomorrow Will Never Come,» «Sabretooth,» and «As the Clock Winds Down.» Realizing that the unique sound they were creating should be shared with the world, the pair decided it was time to expand as a band. They began searching for additional members, focusing on a bassist at first, with the possibility of adding additional members in the future. The duo quickly realized that the position of bassist wasn't going to be filled overnight and were easily able to weed out all the half steppers as they came their way. Still determined to share their music with the world the pair decided that they would soldier on as a two piece until the right bassist came along. With nearly two years of playing together Josh and Justin, more determined then ever to bring all of you metalheads the most brutal tunes they could possibly create remained focused on their originals and began playing out as a two piece at the age of 15 (Josh) and 10 (Justin) The two played out as a two piece for a little while and somehow knew their bass player was out there and would find them soon enough. Not giving up hope they still soldiered on and as luck would have it the night they had been waiting for was finally here. At a show one night they had a few offers from people willing to try their hand at the bass for the pair. Fast forward to present day, with the addition of Codi Stark as bassist Silver Skull now has a complete lineup. Codi began playing out with Silver Skull at the age of 14. With a three hour set Silver Skull is easily able to play out at venues and private parties. The three are focused on perfecting their sound as a three piece. They continue to focus on their originals and don't play cover songs. Not that there is anything wrong with a cover band, you just won't ever catch this band playing «Sweet Home Alabama.» To date the only cover that Silver Skull will play is «Pure Hatred» by Chimaira, a favorite band of all the members. Although even «Pure Hatred» isn't played too often by them, only when requested. For those of you who have read this far there is one final aspect that we must make a point to mention. All of our «Myspace Friends» are truly awesome and we thank all of you for supporting us and being a part of our musical journey with us. With that said there are also a few people that deserve «honorable» mentions, the list is far too great for us to be able to cover all of them, but we will do our best to compile a small list. First off I would like to say that we are stoked to be here in AZ. Its been a while since our last blog and a lot has happened since then. We released our new EP«barcode» , opened for Vital Remains, and have done several other shows in the Phoenix area. The most recent turn of events? SPONSORSHIP!! Yes! Our drummer is now sponsored by 7 Drumworks. There drums are kick ass and we look forward to making as much noise with them as we possibly can.
