Since first working with SENTENCED back in 1993, Century Media Records are well known for delivering first-class Finnish Metal from the likes of Turisas, Finntroll, Poisonblack, Timo Kotipelto, Norther, The Man-Eating Tree, Kivimetsän Druidi and our latest signing Insomnium.

Now we team up with the Finnish Metal Expo, Inferno (Finland’s leading metal magazine), Imperiumi.net (Finland’s leading online metal magazine) and Terrorizer (UK’s leading true metal cult magazine) to find our next SUOMI METAL STAR! No matter whether you play Death, Black, Doom, Folk, Thrash or Powermetal or Hardrock or Metalcore: we consider everything just METAL. So don’t hesitate and submit your band for the qualifying at www.suomimetalstar.com

First prize:
A worldwide record deal with Century Media Records Ltd. and a worldwide publishing deal with our partner Magic Arts Ltd. A provisional agreement including all deal terms needs to be signed by every band member joining ROUND TWO (the “public voting period”). The record deal includes a recording budget of minimum 5.000 Euro.
All 4 finalist bands will be featured with one song each on the free Century Media FME 2011 compilation.

QUALIFYING – submission period
Starting November 10th, 2010 Finnish bands can start submitting entries for the Qualifying. Submissions end on November 29th, 2010
EVERY Finnish band that is not bound to any other recording and/or publishing contract can join the contest. It doesn’t need to be a newcomer band, but also bands who have already released albums on previous labels, but whom are now contractually free.

ROUND TWO – public voting period
The 12 best bands of the QUALIFYING will be selected by Century Media and available for public voting on www.suomimetalstar.com from December 6th, 2010 until December 31st, 2010! The 4 bands with the most votes will enter the last ROUND THREE.

ROUND THREE – jury showcase
The 4 finalist bands will play 2 songs (maximum 10 minutes playing time for each band). We request each band to play one original composition and one well-known cover version (because it’s more fun for the FME visitors) at the FINNISH METAL EXPO showcase Saturday, February 19th, 2011 from 16:00 – 18:00.

Finnish Metal Expo Location: Valssaamo, Cable Factory, Helsinki, Finland.

The best band will be picked by the jury.
