Rotten Sound's brand new full-length album, Cursed, will see its worldwide (excluding Finland) release on March 15th via Relapse Records. The album will see its Finnish release on March 16th courtesy of Fullsteam Records.

Cursed, the follow-up to 2008's Cycles, was recorded at Nordic Audio Labs. Lyrically, the 16-track album will be themed around the six curses of mankind. Cursed is currently available for pre-order. Additional album details to be posted soon.

Rotten Sound, who will be touring in North America early next year, has also announced a headlining European tour in support of Cursed. This four week tour will kick-off in early April and also include Trap Them, Gaza, The Kandidate and Haust. A listing of confirmed tour dates and cities can be found below with more to be announced soon.

Rotten Sound will be touring North America as part of The Finnish Metal Tour 2 featuring Finntroll, Ensiferum, and Barren Earth. This five-week tour will kick-off on January 31st in Orlando, FL and conclude in early March in Raleigh, NC.

The Finnish up-tempo-junkies, Rotten Sound, has been delivering their top notch grind with crust and death influences since the forming of the band on one crazy night in July of 1993. Their upcoming album, Cursed, is going to drop a few new jaws among the ones, that have been gasping for air after every earlier release. "We wanted to stay in the grind-core genre, but the album contains also dark and heavy moments right before your ears are getting maimed again by insane drumming, crushing guitars, distorted bass and senseless screaming" says the the vocalist Keijo Niinimaa, who has been in the band since the very beginning and has seen the evolution from crust to grind and beyond.

Lyrically Cursed takes the listeners behind the scenes of the global tragedy we experience on daily basis. "After the apocalyptic Cycles I started to think about the reasons behind all the problems we cause to ourselves and this planet. I found myself studying the human nature and I came up with the six curses of humanity that degrade all of us generation after generation, culture after culture and disaster after disaster." continues Niinimaa about the lyrical content of the album.

Rotten Sound has been touring actively since the beginning of the millennium and is always looking for possibilities to conquer new territories while they continue pounding Europe and USA over and over again with their auditory assaults. Their long touring history consist of shared shows with Carcass, Disfear, Suffocation, Malevolent Creation, Rotting Christ, Misery Index, Sayyadina, Magrudergrind, Trap Them and Aborted to mention a few of fellows in crime. Their next assignment is the participation to the follow-up of highly successful "Finnish Metal Tour". Part two is also taking place in the North America and Rotten Sound performs as the direct support to the co-headlining countrymen Finntroll and Ensiferum. Package is being opened by the progressive-death-rock-super-group Barren Earth.

After the US-crusade they will head back to Europe to start their fourth headlining tour with Trap Them (US), Gaza (US), Nails (US) and Haust (NOR). "This tour is a real dream-come-true to us: having these four bands in the same bill makes us honored and we are very happy to see all of them live every night." states Keijo Niinimaa. Then, in the summer of 2011, Rotten Sound expects to hit as many festivals as their schedule allows to make sure, that all the grind-, metal-, death-, crust- and whatever-heads will see them playing live.

Their pre-Cursed back-catalogue consists of five albums, one live DVD, and bunch of other releases and many of them are considered as the corner-stones of modern grind-core. Murderworks is the album that the fans considers their new beginning and follow-up Exit got the band a solid state among extreme music listeners around the world. The follow-up, Cycles, was their soundtrack for the auto-apocalypse of humanity and Cursed is executing a precise and cynical mental autopsy for the reasons behind the centuries of misery and destruction (to come).

Cursed is going to be released by the legendary Relapse Records on 15th of March 2011 around the world with exception of Rotten Sound's home country Finland, where the album is going to be released by the dynamic Fullsteam Records on 16th of March 2011.

Japanische Kampfhorspiele, formed in 1998, is a grindcore band from Krefeld, Germany. Their name translates to "Japanese Combat Radio Plays." On later releases, they incorporated some death metal influences, but the band refers to their current sound as "grindpunk."
Japanische Kampfhorspiele (JaKa) was founded in 1998 by Klaus Nicodem and Christof Kather. After their official debut CD on Blutwurscht Productions (Switzerland) in 2001, Christof adds Daniel and Simon Schaffrath and Marco Bachmann to the line-up to be able to play live performances. In 2002 Japanische Kampfhörspiele release Die Großstadt Stinkt, Ist Laut Und Septisch. Simon Schaffrath leaves the band, and playing live shows is out. The band focuses on song-writing, and in 2003 Bastardized Recordings releases the EP Fertigmensch. The band plays its first live show in October 2003.

In spring 2004 the band went into the studio again to record Hardcore Aus Der Ersten Welt, a very heavy album. Japanische Kampfhörspiele continue to record and release their music through various labels, the latest being Rauchen und Yoga on Bastardized Recordings.

Dr Acula - Slander CD - 2011

Dr. Acula is a deathcore band from Long Island, New York. The band’s name comes from a joke written by stand-up comedian Mitch Hedberg. Most of their songs are named after books in R.L. Stine’s GOOSEBUMPS series. Dr. Acula formed in September 2005 and quickly accumulated a following thanks to non-stop DIY touring, energetic performances, and not taking themselves too seriously.

They self-released their first recording, the Chillogy EP, in 2006. Early copies were packaged inside Goosebumps books from their personal collection. Their first full-length “S.L.O.B” (a.k.a. Silver-Lipped Operator of Bullshit) was self-released in 2007, and later reissued by 187 Records.

In April 2008, Dr. Acula signed to Uprising Records. The band released their second full-length album, titled “Below Me!”, with producer Jamie King (Through The Eyes Of The Dead, Between the Buried and Me). It was released July 22, 2008. On June 15th, the band released the first single off of “Below Me” entitled “Go Eat Worms”.

In April 2010, Dr. Acula released “The Social Event of The Century”, which brought a different sound compared to their earlier album titled “Below Me!”. Since releasing “The Social Event of The Century”, Dr. Acula has toured with bands such as Molotov Solution, I Declare War, Monsters, Attila, Blind Witness, and more. They also have signed to Victory Records, where there will have an early 2011 release of a new album.

- BIOGRAPHY -

Subversion are an unsigned 6 piece experimental metal band from the South East UK.

They have their humble beginnings way back in February of 2008 when two guitarists decided to put something together that was inspired by a love of metal, and a love of film score.

Fusing melody, symphony and technicality the band has created a unique sound that will satisfy those with a taste for experimental metal without fear of symbiosis between other styles of music.

Subversion have been known to describe them selves as ‘dynamic’ as they wish to delve in to many genres of music but always combined with the many genres of modern metal so as not to restrict themselves in the creative process and remain in keeping with their love of all things heavy.

‘Lest We Forget’ features 16 tracks interwoven with music & sound design (audio art and SFX for film, animation, Television). The idea of sound design in this album is to create the illusion of a movie running through its entirety but via the sole mediums of sound & the accompanied descriptive text (as will be available within the booklet of the CD or downloadable for free for digital purchasers of the album)

The narrative within Lest We Forget tries to portray a lone soldier’s fears and struggles after being the sole survivor of an attack on his platoon of men near the opening of the album (Track 2 – In To The City). He faces various obstacles as he tries to make it back out from behind enemy lines and this all provided Subversion with the freedom to be really creative with sound, culminating in many hours of Foley work, on location recording and voice acting.

“The New Hell” opens with amazingly great riffing and machine gun drumming. I am loving this vocalist. He has a good transition from highs to lows. This riff is amazing. Catchy, melodic and very easily memorable. This band is not playing around. Everything is very tight and synchronized. Very catchy chorus as well. This is a great way to open an album. A sample comes in toward the end of the track bringing it to a close. “Ad Mortem” opens with a blistering riff and killer blast beats. This band is wasting no time in getting to the brutality. This vocalist is great. His voice is brutal and evil, but you can understand every word he says. This is a great combination that is often hard to pull off. A nice chugging breakdown begins close to the 2:00 mark. A nice lead guitar play around it. Another great track. “We Are The Wolves” again begins in all out brutality. This is a band that gets right to the point with no fucking around necessary. I like the vocal pattern on this track.

The drumming accents it very well. Everything is very fluid. A nicely executed solo comes in around the 2:00 mark. It stands out kind of awkward with the drumming pattern, but not all it lost, as the menacing vocalist brings everything back around. repetitive screaming of “We Are The Wolves” closes the track. “Turner Classic Diaries” opens with yet another brutal-as-fuck riff. This track isn’t as melodic as it’s predecessors. This song is straight to the point without the need of catchy riffing. This is a full on moshing track. I can picture a crowd beating the shit out of one another to this track. This track contains a lot of start-stop riffing and structure. I don’t see this track being as memorable as those that preceded it. The chugging section towards the end of the track with the solo is possibly my favorite part of this track. “Bigger Cages, Longer Chains!” opens with a very catchy riff. This is back to the formula from the beginning of the album. This track isn’t as fast as I expected, though. It’s still heavy and punishing, but set to a slower tempo. I am actually really digging this. The vocals are perfectly executed, the riffing is superb and the drumming is otherworldly.

This is by far my favorite track thus far. “The Crown and The Holy See” opens with an amazing lead guitar riff. This track is fucking unbelievable. I am loving this 100%. Melodic, fast, heavy. This is great. I retract my previous statement. This is my favorite track. This track is very bass heavy, which is also a plus for me, as I like a lot of bass. Variation of timing is also a good thing. Very well executed solo towards the end of the track top off this evil, heavy-as-fuck cake. Damn fine track. Damn fine. “VII The Fraudulent” opens with the vocalist screaming “liar, liar, liars!” before the actual band kicks in and the verse starts. Interesting. This song has a great tone and tempo. I like everything about this track as well. Nice melodic chugging riffs, complex and remarkable drumming patterns. Excruciatingly powerful vocals.

Mix this all up in a bowl and you have yet another great track by The Famine. At times, sometimes only for a second or two in a song, this band reminds me of Whitechapel. “A Pavement of Good Intentions” opens with a nicely done riff. Sections of it seem to lean towards the tech death vein, but not quite hitting the nail on the head. Again, the vocal pattern is great on this track. I love the chugging sections of this track. This has kept my head nodding since the beginning of the track. This band is definitely no joke. They are here to kick ass and that is exactly what they are accomplishing. This band continues to keep me interested with “A Fragile Peace.” Utterly amazing. Melodic and very easily memorable, as are a vast majority of the tracks on this album. This track is in a running tie with “The Crown and The Holy See” for the best track on the album. This has agreat tone and vibe about it. The breakdown close to the end is interesting.

Amazing. “Pyrithion House” opens with another unbelievable riff. The high-pitched screams on this seem to be more emotionally driven than on some previous tracks. This band seems to have a way about them of running a tight-knit operation and producing menacingly melodic, catchy songs. I absolutely love the guitar tone throughout this one. The drums are not chaotic and blasting. The double bass keeps a steady tempo which is very good if you’re headbanging. A nice drum section opens up “To The Teeth” which has an extremely doom laden thrash sound to it right off. The riff is one of the most memorable on the album. The entire mood shifts slightly towards a more brutal sound. The groove comes back around the 1:33 mark, though. When I say groove, I mean just that. This track has some serious grooving to it. This is absolutely amazing. I like the tempo changes. It keeps you on your toes about what to expect next. Fucking fantastic. I really like this album. The Famine did a terrific job on this. If you have never heard this band, look them up!

The Famine:

The Famine is a metal band that formed in 2007 in Arlington, Texas, and is signed to Solid State Records.

The band initially formed with three of the original members of Embodyment in former lead vocalist Kris McCaddon, drummer Mark Garza and guitarist Andrew Godwin. While McCaddon previously played guitar in Demon Hunter he, along with Nowell, also played guitar in Society's Finest. During the fall of 2006 the band recorded 3 songs that would later become a self-released EP.

The Famine's first album The Raven and The Reaping was recorded in November and December 2007 with Andreas Magnusson (The Black Dahlia Murder, The Agony Scene) and released in May 2008. The Famine performed on the Stronger Than Hell tour with Demon Hunter and Living Sacrifice in the summer of 2008. They toured with Rose Funeral and The World We Knew during October 2008 and with The Devil Wears Prada, Saosin, and Underoath in November 2008.

The Famine's video for the song Consume, Devour, Repeat premiered virally on MTV's Headbangers Blog on Thursday, November 6 and was subsequently televised on MTV2's Headbangers Ball on Saturday, November 8.




The band announced the departure of vocalist Kris McCaddon via MySpace on January 9, 2010. Bassist Nick Nowell took over vocals, and bass duties were quickly filled by new addition Jon Richardson as announced on the 15th.

On February 26, the band announced that their studio burned down with all of their equipment and tracking for their new album.

According to the band's myspace, their new album "The Architects of Guilt" is set to release February 15th, 2011 through Solid State Records.

While the band is signed to a Christian label, the band has stated in several interviews that they do not wish to be addressed simply as a Christian band. "You can call us whatever you want. We are a metal band and wouldn’t label ourselves anything but and honestly don’t care what people label us."

The Warriors is an American hardcore punk band originally from Tehachapi, CA. Due to member changes, The Warriors are now primarily based in Oxnard, CA. Their work is heavily influenced by the work of '90s bands such as Rage Against the Machine and Snapcase, a unique sound during a period that had previously been saturated with heavy American metalcore.

They followed their debut 7" release with a full-length album titled War Is Hell, through Eulogy Recordings in 2003. In 2005 it was reissued with two extra tracks and computer accessible content titled War Is Hell Redux. In 2006 their second album was released, titled Beyond The Noise. They are now signed on to Victory Records. In 2007 they released their third album Genuine Sense of Outrage.

New album "See How You Are" will be released February 15th through Victory Records.
