PESTILENCE and SADIST Join Forces In NUFUTIC

Federico Gasperi, general manager at Nadir Music, revealed to BLABBER MOUTH.NET that bassist Jeroen Paul Thesseling (PESTILENCE, ex-OBSCURA) joins forces with producer and guitar/keyboard virtuoso Tommy Talamanca (SADIST) in a new recording project 'NUFUTIC'. "We are very stoked about this new collaboration. Our working field will be fusion influenced metal, a direction that allows us to combine progressive elements of our musical backgrounds", says Talamanca.

The Dutch/Italian project announced via Thesseling's website [www.jeroenthesseling.com] to hold video auditions for drummers who play jazz-fusion and metal. Interested parties should send their background info and performance web links via email to: contact [at] jeroenthesseling [dot] com.

Tommy works since 1991 with the Italian prog/death band SADIST and recorded their albums "Above the Light" (1993), "Tribe" (1996), "Crust" (1997), "Lego" (2000), "Sadist" (2007) and "Season in Silence" (2010). Last year Tommy contributed a guitar solo to the track "Euclidean Elements" on OBSCURA's latest album, "Omnivium".

Thesseling collaborated with OBSCURA from 2008 till 2011 and recorded the band's full-length albums "Cosmogenesis" (2009) and "Omnivium" (2011). In 2009 Jeroen rejoined the Dutch death metallers PESTILENCE after a 15-year hiatus. He recorded PESTILENCE's fourth and sixth studio albums, "Spheres" (1993) and "Doctrine" (2011).

Das Magazin der Bremer Metal-Szene - Metal4Bremen - feiert seinen zweiten Geburtstag. Um diesen Anlass angemessen zu feiern, hat man sich musikalische Unterstützung mit an Bord geholt. Am 14. Oktober wird mit insgesamt 3 Bands auf der MS Treue ins neue Jahr gefeiert.

Den Auftakt machen die angesagten Bremer Sorrowfield.
Eine geballte Ladung Thrash gibt es dann von den Hannoveranern Cripper, für die dies nach dem 70.000 Tons of Metal in diesem Jahr bereits die zweite Kreuzfahrt ist.
Danach geht es getreu dem Motto „Up-The-Irons“ mit den Rotenburgern Iron Priest weiter, die eine delikate Mischung aus Coversongs von Iron Maiden, Judas Priest und anderen Größen brühend heiß servieren.
Im Anschluss gibt es dann Musik aus der Konserve mit DJ Arrow, der auch schon bei den vorherigen Metal4Bremen Veranstaltungen für Beschallung gesorgt hat.

Napalm Death Re-sign with Century Media Records

Century Media Records have renewed their deal with British grindcore legend NAPALM DEATH who has wrapped up the recordings of its yet untitled 14th studio album earlier this year at Parlour Studio in Kettering, UK with longtime producer Russ Russell.

ISOLE formed under the name Forlorn back in 1990 with two sole members, Crister and Daniel. Several demo tapes were recorded in the 1990's, including Waves of Sorrow in 1994 — a recording still revered by Epic Doom Metal fans.
After a few years of turmoil, in which the band suffered myriad line-up changes, I Hate Records approached them in 2003. With a newly signed contract and much motivation, the band saw it fit to adopt a new moniker, thus becoming ISOLE.
ISOLE's debut album "Forevermore" was released in early 2005 and followed up with a 7", "The Beyond", in early 2006. The next album, "Throne of Void", released in the summer of 2006, delivered an even darker sound than its critically acclaimed predecessor.
The next step in Isole's journey was the release of "Bliss of Solitude", which was recorded, mixed, and produced at Studio Apocalypse by the band themselves. The mastering was done by Thomas Nilsson, and Peter Sallai provided the finishing touches with his magnificent yet eerie cover artwork. „Bliss of Solitude" received overwhelming positive feedback from fans and critics alike.
However, Isole did not fall prey to idleness and continuously worked on new material for their fourth album "Silent Ruins". It was an ambitious concept album, in which the band ventured into new territories by incorporating more variation and increasing the pace of the songs.
After releasing four albums in four years, Isole slowed things down. They decided to take a break from the studio and focus on playing live in order to gain some perspective before returning to the songrwriting process. After touring in more than 10 countries, ISOLE was ready to tackle their latest opus.
ISOLE's fifth release "Born from Shadows" is the continuation of a story that began in 2005 with "Moonstone" on the debut album "Forevermore" and then "Shadowstone" on "Bliss of Solitude". On "Born from Shadows" the two stones symbolize two opposites that finally come together to become one: darkness meets light, death meets life, and good meets evil.
With their first releases, ISOLE was able to secure an excellent reputation within the doom metal underground. They have now elevated their status even further with their last two albums, "Bliss of
Solitude" and "Silent Ruins". Their current work, "Born from Shadows", impressively maintains their well-earned position and lays any doubts as to their superiority to rest. The Swedish quartet understands more than any other band how to effectively merge hypnotic melodies with viscous guitar lines. The album's main focus is undeniably the heavy riffs, but occasional digressions into more aggressive realms, where growls and vicious drumming reign, also find their niche. As such, even the epic tracks remain tantalizing and require one's complete attention, so as not to miss the fine details of this musical tristesse. The dark euphonious landscapes relate the third part of the "Moonstone Trilogy", which dates back to the band's debut. The story of an endless struggle between good and evil couldn't have found a better soundtrack than that of "Born from Shadows". The four Swedes guarantee genuine and essential doom metal. Fascinated by the myths surrounding legendary Atlantis, the band Visions of Atlantis was formed in 2000. After completing their first demo CD, it took less than a year before the band found a label in Black Arrows/TTS. The company released the first full-length album, "Eternal Endless Infinity", in Europe and later worldwide.
Fueled by the positive feedback, the band not only toured with bands like Lacuna Coil, Nightwish, or Edenbridge but also played at festivals across Europe, Latin America and Asia, including the Busan Rock Festivals in front of more than 20,000 spectators. In the summer of 2003, singer Mario Plank joined Visions of Atlantis and became an important part in the characteristic VoA sound with his heavier, yet still very melodic vocal style. Furthermore, the band signed a recording deal with the well-known Austrian label Napalm Records, which released the band's second studio effort "Cast Away" worldwide in November 2004.
To mark the release, Visions of Atlantis produced their first official music video to the track "Lost", which received significant airplay on VIVA and MTV, and made it possible for the band to present the album on their first European tour alongside Epica.
In 2005 and 2006, Visions of Atlantis worked hard on new material and played gigs with the likes of Elis, Nightwish, and Edenbridge. In May 2007, the third album "Trinity" was released by Napalm Records. The artwork was designed by the renowned Anthony Clarksson, who had already made himself a name in the metal-scene by working for Exodus and Blind Guardian, among others.
The following autumn brought Visions of Atlantis to the United States, where the band toured together with Epica for 6 weeks and won numerous new fans. Upon returning, the band went through changes in the line-up.
The remaining members continued their work and in 2008 and 2009, Visions of Atlantis not only looked for a replacement for Melissa Ferlaak (ex-Aesma Daeva, Echoterra), but also wrote the song material for the fourth album "Delta", which will be released worldwide via Napalm Records at the end of February 2011.
With the extraordinary Greek female vocalist Maxi Nil, known for her work with Moonspell and her former band Elysium, the band was not only once again complete, but her addition added a unique touch to the new material.
As with "Trinity", Visions of Atlantis entered the Dreamsound Studios in Munich (Germany) in the middle of 2010 to record the "Trinity" successor under the supervising eyes of the producing team consisting of Mario Lochert and Jan Vacik. After months of hard work in the studio, "Delta" was completed in November 2010!
The elaborate and detailed orchestral arrangements mixed with the powerful and diverse guitar work, and the captivating vocal lines make "Delta" a perfect mix between the already existing trademarks of the band and new courageous elements. The result offers also highly varied, yet tight album that takes the hearts of the symphonic metal fans by storm. Visions of Atlantis first embarked on their musical journey over 10 years ago. Now, with their latest album "Delta", they deliver an impressive mix of epic power and pureemotion. Their recent tour in support of this release couldn't have been more successful. Not only did the band members, including new vocalist Maxi Nil, win over countless new fans, but they also grew closer together, as is evident in the band's latest MCD, which offers 5 brand-new songs, as well as one re-recording. Visions of Atlantis empowers the opening track, an epic symphonic version of Sandra's "Maria Magdalena", while capturing the original spirit of the '80s hit. The vocal duet comprising Maxi Nil and Mario Plank give the song a welcomed dynamic. 9MM ARR embody both a rare musical direction and an appealing way of life that inspires people to form myriad fan clubs. Currently, over 70 fan clubs exist throughout Germany.
The band had their breakthrough with their hit "Assi RnR" in 2006. National and international radio stations gave the band massive airplay, while TV stations featured them extensively and print magazines praised them profusely.
In 2007, the band embarked on a German tour with the legendary Girlschool and also shared festival stages with bands like Doro, U.D.O., Grave Digger, Bonfire, and many more.

NEMESEA - The Quiet Resistance

“There are times when you want to speak your mind and be brutally honest. That’s the quiet resistance within you,” says guitarist HJ of Nemesea, referring to the title of the band’s brand new album. The Dutch female- fronted band, famous for combining rock with electro, have fine-tuned this musical combination to perfection on their third album. The Quiet Resistance is a gem that reveals its many splendid colors more and more each time you press play.
According to HJ, The Quiet Resistance is a balanced mix of the first two albums, combining heavy riffs and symphonic musical landscapes with pop sensibilities and electronic influences. The former jazz guitar student wrote most of the new songs on guitar, piano, as well as on the computer. Singer Manda added the lyrics, which go beyond the usual gothic rock lingo and rehashed fairytales:
“Lyrics are very important. They can be comforting, but they can also shake things up. My lyrics are pieces of my life, personal experiences that I weave into little stories,” she explains. “One of the central themes on this album is being in control or losing it. If you want to change things in your life, you just have to go for it.”
The current line-up is a tight-knit unit comprising HJ, Manda, Sonny Onderwater (bass), Frank van der Star (drums), and Lasse Dellbrugge (keyboards). In addition to Manda’s amazing vocals, there are a few remarkable vocal guest performances on the new album, giving it an interesting vocal range and variety. Delain’s Charlotte Wessels lends her amazing voice to ‘High Enough’, while Marcus Klavan (vocals) and Matt Litwin (turntables) of American band Bulletproof Messenger contribute to the dynamic nu metal track ‘It’s Over’. One of the songs that stands out is the bonus track ‘Allein’, which features German singer Heli Reissenweber of the Rammstein cover band Stahlzeit. “This song turned out to have a Rammstein feel, so we decided to push it as far as we could with some German lyrics,” explains HJ.
Joost van den Broek, former keyboardist of After Forever, co-produced, mixed, and mastered “The Quiet Resistance”. The band forged a friendship with him when they toured with After Forever in the early stages of their career. According to HJ, his influence was pivotal: “We needed someone who could make our sound heavier. He connected all the dots and wrote all the symphonic arrangements together with our keyboardist Lasse. He gave us a very big and heavy sound, both in the production and in the mix.”
Nemesea was founded in 2002 by vocalist Manda Ophuis and guitarist Hendrik Jan (HJ) de Jong. The band signed a deal with a small Dutch label and released their debut album Mana in 2004. The album made the band an instant rising star on the musical horizon. Nemesea toured intensively and drew the attention of both fans and industry with great album reviews. In 2006, Nemesea signed with sellaband.com, a brand-new format for bands to record and release their music independently. Within a couple of months, the band won over many fans and was the first band worldwide to collect $ 50,000, allowing them to record and internationally release their second album, “In Control” (2007).
Their cooperation with Sellaband opened many international doors for the band. It enabled them to work with Tony Platt (AC/DC, Iron Maiden and Motorhead), who produced their second album, and sound engineer Ronald
Prent (Rammstein, HIM,Within Temptation). Nemesea was also the first band worldwide togive two special shows in OMNI-surround.
Although Sellaband regrettably no longer operates, the experience proved to be of great value to Nemesea. “Our time with Sellaband taught us that we have great fans all over the world. However, you need good distribution and promotion, as well, if you want to expose your music to as many people as possible.”
Despite the setbacks suffered, the band is more determined than ever to keep going. Opening track ‘Caught in the Middle’ makes that perfectly clear, as Manda explains:
“I wrote the lyrics when the future didn’t look very bright for us. When the Sellaband house of cards crumbled, we wondered about Nemesea’s future. But our message now is: whatever happens, we will carry on.”
The Quiet Resistance will be released in November 2011 on Napalm Records.

Lonely Kamel - Dust Devil

Lonely Kamel’s current line-up exists for a mere 3 years, yet the band has already released two great albums with the third one on the way. The Norwegian quartet toured Germany three times and signed with the German booking label Sound of Liberation, which led to gigs and festivals sharing the stage with bands like Orange Goblin, Monster Magnet, and Karma to Burn, among others. Six months later, Napalm Records offered them a worldwide recording deal.
Things still happen fast with Lonely Kamel and rumors and tunes from this relatively new, upcoming, and hard-hitting live act spread like wildfire throughout the scene. The band likes to follow its own motto: Blues, grooves & a bottle of booze!
The music is heavy, dirty, groovy, and inspired by heavy blues, classic hard rock, and stoner rock at its best. At times references to doom and psychedelic can be picked up in several select songs. This variety of inspiration and influence reveals itself through heavy listening.
The self-titled debut "Lonely Kamel" (2008) and "Blues for the Dead" (2010) were released by the Norwegian Little Bird Records & the Swedish Transsubstans Records, respectively. Alongside the release of the third album “Dust Devil”, Napalm Records will re-release the much sought-after debut, as well.
In support of “Dust Devil”, Lonely Kamel will embark on the "Up In Smoke Volume 3" tour, playing gigs in Germany, France, Switzerland, Holland, as well as other countries, to deliver the brand-new songs to their fans.

We had a great experience working with director Dave Vorhes and his team. They used a number of DIY style tricks to create a very unique and professional environment for the 'Shattered Like Glass' video. We had a blast using smoke and mirrors to escape the trappings of another metal warehouse video. The aim is to have a very dark, horror movie kind of feel in this video. Sick Of It All Details Of Nonstop

2011 marks the 25th anniversary of New York’s finest hardcore export SICK OF IT ALL! Since 1986 SICK OF IT ALL have been thrashing out classic hardcore anthems and touring the globe without ever taking much of a break. As a special release further celebrating this anniversary, SICK OF IT ALL will release “Nonstop” via Century Media Records on October 31st, 2011 in Europe!

After the release of the highly acclaimed “Based On A True Story” (2010), SICK OF IT ALL took a short break from relentlessly touring this record earlier this year to hit the Antfarm Studio again with Tue Madsen in order to celebrate their 25th anniversary with re-recordings of classic hits for “Nonstop”. Drummer Armand Majidi is giving props to the Danish producer who already worked with them for “Death To Tyrants” and “Based On A True Story”: “This whole thing is partially because of working with Tue Madsen - the man who has finally made SOIA sound the way we should in the studio.”

The band further comments on “Nonstop” as follows:
“It was a fun recording session, and a relatively easy one because we're so used to playing so many of these songs live. They're like second nature. Most of these songs make their way into our live sets all the time, so they're current - they reach new ears and are constantly refreshed by their exposure to a brand new audience. It's not like they had to be dusted off.
We changed tempos mostly and some of the arrangements, but we didn't want to do anything too drastic. We wanted to keep most of the songs true to the originals, but with a more powerful sound that we feel makes them all they can be. “

Vocalist and bassist Niilo Sevänen comments: “We're very happy to announce the first video premiere for “One For Sorrow”. The track is “Through The Shadows”, written by Ville Friman, who also sings the chorus with me. We collaborated again with our good friends from Obscure Entertainment from Tampere, Finland. And again it turned out great, like all the previous videos we've done with them. Hope you enjoy it! We had a great time filming, despite the million mosquitoes harassing us. The first media feedback on “One For Sorrow” is praising the album as the band’s best effort so far. Metal Hammer Germany wrote in the brand-new October issue: “The first impression is just completely stunning. “One For Sorrow” is still melodic Death Metal but with a complexity and catchiness that most of their competitors miss. “One For Sorrow” is the logical next step for the most promising Finnish band since a long time.”

“One For Sorrow” will be released on October 12th in Finland, October 17th in the rest of Europe and October 18th in North America. Followed by European headline run in November (see dates below).

Formed in 1997 in the town of Joensuu, in Eastern Finland, INSOMNIUM released two demos that led to a deal with UK label Candlelight Records. Founding members Markus Hirvonen (drums), Ville Friman (guitars) and Niilo Sevänen (vocals and bass) added guitarist Ville Vänni to the band for the release of their Candlelight debut in 2001. Throughout the following decade, the band went on to release four more highly acclaimed albums, the most recent of which, 2009’s Across the Dark, entered the Finnish album charts at #5. Along the way, they picked up a couple of awards in their homeland for Best Band and Best Album.

In the spring of 2011, INSOMNIUM entered the studio to record what would become “One for Sorrow”. While drums, bass, keyboards and vocals were recorded in Finland and guitars in Gothenburg, Sweden, the album has a remarkable cohesiveness and clarity of sound.

Asphyx Issue update

Following up on the extreme success of their latest studio album release “Death…The Brutal Way” and its “Live Death Doom” DVD/Live-CD successor, Dutch Doom Death Metal legends ASPHYX are currently busy with the final recordings for their newest studio effort, programmatically entitled “Deathhammer”.



The band checked in with the following status report about the new album: “By now, all the guitars, drums and bass tracks for the upcoming "Deathhammer" album are recorded. Drums were recorded in the classic Harrow Studio, known from the ASPHYX classics as "The Rack" and "Last One On Earth". The guitars and bass were recorded in The Mörser Studio. In a few weeks the vocals will be recorded in the Harrow Studio as well and then Dan Swanö will do the album’s mixing and mastering, just as on “Death…The Brutal Way” and “Live Death Doom”. "Deathhammer" promises to be a darkened successor of "Death…The Brutal Way". Almost every band is praising their newest album to be heavier and more brutal than the previous one, but actually in this case it's the harsh truth. "Deathhammer" is in every way heavier, doomier and darker. Maybe it’s because of the fact that most of the songs were written in late Autumn/Winter?! We do not know…but it’s easily our heaviest effort so far!”.

“Deathhammer” is scheduled to be released via Century Media Records in early 2012.

For the rest of this year, ASPHYX will be playing a string of quality shows in Europe, including an appearance at this weekend’s underground institution NRW Deathfest on Saturday, September 17th, 2011 at AJZ Bahndamm in Wermelskirchen, Germany. Additionally, ASPHYX have chose to perform two very special “full album setlist” concerts on October 15th at Metropool in Hengelo, The Netherlands (where the band will be playing their complete “Last One On Earth” album) and at this year’s Eindhoven Metal Meeting on December 16th at Effenaar in Eindhoven, The Netherlands (where the band will be playing their complete “The Rack” album for its 20th anniversary of release). ICED EARTH will embark on a massive European tour from the end of October until mid-December to introduce “Dystopia” and their new singer Stu Block to European audiences. Tom Araya and Kerry King were interviewed by Rolling Stone magazine when they played the "Big 4" show at the Yankee Stadium in New York this Wednesday (September 14th). Kerry King revealed that the band had already been rehearsing with Jeff Hanneman for 2 weeks but decided that Gary Holt of Exodus should play the "Big 4" show since Jeff's playing wasn't tight enough.

It was also mentioned that the band is trying to get Jeff back on stage for the "Fun Fun Fun Fest" in Austin, TX which will be held from November 4th - 6th 2011. Jeff Hanneman had to sit out all of the bands tours this year due to an infection on his right arm caused by a spider bite. Although not fully recovered he made a surprise appearance at the "Big 4" festival in Indio, CA on April 23rd where he played the last two songs of the set "South Of Heaven" and "Angel Of Death".

Надежда превратилась в большое разочарование
Как преданный фанат группы, я с недоумением, смотрел за новостями 90х годов, когда Anthrax сменил вокалиста и стиль , комментируя что именно Буш это то что группа долго хотела но боялась сказать. Я задавал себе много раз вопрос чем же Белладонна не угодил группе и разве новый сиэтловский гранж металл - это есть треш? После мы попрощались с Антраксом на многие годы ... трэш умер
Известие о возвращении старого вокалиста заставило реинкарнировать старые чувства. Концерты "Большой Четвёрки" самое значимое событие за последние годы. Мы надеялись услышать олд скульное звучание или хотя бы в стиле persistence of time, но все надежды были разбиты в дребезги ...
Музыка выполнена в стиле the sound of white noise + высокий уровень нынешних технологий + Speed Metal начала восьмидесятых. Создается такое впечатление, что музыка была заточена под Буша, а Белладонна вносит своё в музыку альбома насколько это возможно. В целом музыка хороша, но это уже не старый, добрый антраксовский трэш, а Modern Heavy / Speed Metal. (Местами напоминает сольный проэкт Белладонны). Увы, возвращение к корням не произошло.

Guitarist Aure Pereira comments on the album: "If we were to give any advice to our fans before they listen to Februus, we would tell them to take their time and really open their minds to the music, because there are a million different listening levels. Recording has taken us so long but we think it was worth the wait in the end. We wanted to be sure that we had put the best of us in it and I think we've been successful at doing that. Thall."

A self-contained unit, the band recorded 'FEBRUUS' at French studio Uneven Box, with guitarist Igor Omodei at the production helm. Vocals and mastering were completed at Vertic Studios in the South of France. The artwork concepts that run throughout the album and forthcoming videos were also conceived and produced by Igor Omodei.

"Ten dastardly tales of intrigue, phantasm and Derring-do”

September 23rd 2011, the Autumnal Equinox, heralds the release of Black Heart of Empire - the second full length album by Imperial Vengeance; and sees the gentlemen retreat from the horrors of war that dominated their debut, and raise the curtain on ten new absinthe-soaked compositions, played - for the most part- against the sinister backdrop of 19th Century London.

The duo describe the new work as “Ten dastardly tales of intrigue, phantasm and Derring-do”.

Beginning with a four part song cycle entitled 'The Gaslight Aria', the album proceeds through a collection of narratives that present a singularly dark vision. The resulting journey is a breathtakingly complex opiated haze of inspired guitar riffing and dramatic orchestration, awash with neo-Victorian aesthetics and containing no less than one hour of quintessentially British Metal.
The disc will be released in tandem with a 42-page 'Penny Dreadful' style booklet, which amongst the assorted simulacra and ephemera contains extracts of the orchestral score, photo galleries, Victorian horror and extensive insight by C. Edward Alexander and David Bryan into the background and composition behind the album.
Adding to this nightmarish tapestry of foreboding Doréan atmosphere are guest appearances:
- from Therion soprano Lori Lewis and Vulture Industries vocalist, Bjørnar Erevik Nilsen:
"We needed a voice to represent a very specific character for the track 'Upon the Stair'. It needed to come from outside the band, and needed to be other-worldly and insane.
Bjornar is all these things and more, and took the song to a new level of intangible weirdness".

- with additional spoken word from author/former gangster Dave Courtney. Dave Courtney has provided what Imperial Vengeance describe as "the voice of Old London". The band spent the day at Dave's home Castle Camelot where they recorded passages for the album. C Edward Alexander said:

"there was no better voice to represent the heart of Old London. He's the real thing, and IV always strives for authenticity and eccentricity. Despite his fearsome reputation, it's the second time we've been to visit him, and he and his family have always been very welcoming."

The album was recorded St Mary’s Fields Studios in Colchester, engineered and mixed by C Edward Alexander, and mastered by acclaimed producer Russ Russell (Dimmu Borgir, Napalm Death, Samael) at Parlour Studios, Kettering:

ARCH ENEMY bereiten sich momentan auf ihre anstehende North American Khaos 2011 Tour vor, auf der die Band von Devildriver, Skeletonwitch und Chtonic unterstützt wird. Die Tour wird am 8. September starten und die Band einmal quer durch die USA und Teile von Kanada führen, bevor es dann im November wieder in Europa weitergehen wird.

THE GREENERY Announce Fall Tour and Debut Video

Long Beach, CA's THE GREENERY will be supporting metallic hardcore legends Ringworm this fall on a full U.S. tour. This is addition to their previously announced tour supporting Cruel Hand and a Canadian run.
